Buller Mining Districts Community Centres Society Incorporated

Initiated by Mr Tom McGhie, who became its first president, the Society was incorporated in 1948. It gained impetus through the years and became a potent force for good in the mining communities of Northern Buller. The Buller Mining Districts Community Centres Society has a long history in the district with its hall-based centres and community pool providing much appreciated benefits with places for people of all ages, genders and cultures to meet and engage in a variety of activities and events. It has community centres at Ngakawau, Granity and Waimangaroa and a community swimming pool in Hector.
