Home Fire Safety Visits
Do you have questions or concerns about fire safety in your home? We can visit you to help test and install smoke alarms, identify fire hazards and talk about fire safety specific to you and your whānau.

Hearing Assisted Technology (HAT) smoke alarms
Smoke alarms are essential in a fire, because they give you time to get out. But what if you can’t hear your smoke alarms? Luckily, we have a solution for that.

Ahikura: our youth fire intervention programme
Our stats say the most common cause of fire fatalities in youth is from unsafe fire-lighting behaviours. If you know a child who has a concerning curiosity with fire, we can arrange for one of our practitioners to visit the child and their whānau in a safe environment to educate and support a better direction.

Community education
Do you have a group or event that could benefit from a discussion around fire safety? We can come to you, day or night, to bring important and relevant fire safety conversations to your community.

Volunteer with us
Join one of our 27 West Coast volunteer fire brigades and become part of an essential team who adds real value to the community. The best approach is to first talk to somebody in your local brigade, but you can also register your interest online and we’ll connect you with the local fire chief.
