Our Community Compliance team works alongside individuals, whānau, businesses, Māori organisations and tax agents to help people understand their tax obligations and access the support they are entitled to. We provide free one‑to‑one advisories, seminars, webinars and community presentations covering income tax, GST, employer obligations, record keeping, KiwiSaver, Working for Families and Child Support.

We also support customers through Front of House services and appointments, helping people navigate myIR, complete returns, manage debt and resolve issues early. Our work includes education, early intervention and targeted compliance activities to prevent ongoing problems and help customers get it right from the start.

For Māori communities, our Kaitakawaenga Māori offer dedicated support using te reo Māori and tikanga‑based approaches to ensure everyone can engage in a way that upholds mana and reflects community needs.
