The South Westland Wilderness Trail Trust exists to drive the creation of a cycle and walking trail from Ross to Fox Glacier, offering a safe alternative to the dangers of State Highway 6. It will benefit the economies of the South Westland communities and will enable visitors and educational groups to experience the magnificent forests, coastline and mountain vistas currently closed to all but the hardiest trampers.
