VISION: West Coast seabirds and their habitat are healthy and thriving. MISSION STATEMENT: To achieve our Vision, we will undertake and promote: Research into the ecology of penguins and other seabirds; Education about and awareness of penguins and other seabirds and their conservation needs; Predator control, habitat protection and other appropriate practical conservation projects founded on robust science; Advocacy with local communities and local, regional and central government. These are encompassed within the concept of guardianship or kaitiakitanga. Penguins and other seabirds are a treasure or taonga; we strive to protect and conserve them and their habitat – the wider marine and coastal environment.
